3D Christmas Cookie Tree

Your friends and family will love this 3D Christmas Cookie Tree! So simple to make from layers of Biscuit, Icing and Lollies.

You will need a 10 Piece Set of Star Cookie Cutters, which are available from Cake shops and Kitchen Stores. Plus online at places like Kitchen Warehouse, eBay, Target… & more (Our example above is from www.cookiecuttershop.com.au but you can also get cheaper plastic ones from other stores)

Biscuit Ingredients

110g Soft Butter

110g Castor Sugar

1 small Egg

200g Plain Flour

¼ teaspoon Baking powder

Pinch Salt

1 teaspoon Cinnamon (optional)

(you can also add a couple of drops of food colouring to create different colours)

Instructions

Cream Together Butter & Sugar till fluffy

Add egg and other ingredients and mix

Wrap dough in glad wrap and rest for 30 minutes

Roll out on a floured board until approx. 4 – 5mm thick

Using your Cookie Cutters, cut out shapes

Place on a lined baking try

Bake in a preheated oven 160 deg, 8 – 9 minutes (only until just golden. They will continue to firm as they cool)

Icing Ingredients

250g Royal Icing Sugar

40ml water

Combine & Mix

Starting with the biggest Star Biscuit, sandwich each size on top of each using a small amount of icing. Remember to offset each star shape to give a Christmas tree effect.

Colour the remaining icing with a little green food colouring and pipe around the edges of the Biscuit tree (see photo) and decorate with lollies and even tiny cupcakes.

TIP…pipe on your icing using a round nozzle point. To make your own piping bags use a ziplock bag and cut the end off
